They’re already spinning it to make sure that the cops’ murder of an UNARMED, HANDCUFFED young man looks like it’s his fault.

Man shot, killed by officer in northwest Charlotte (WCNC 36)

Police shoot black man, which version is true?

That second link… that blogger is disgusting.

A black blogger, Dion the socialist, who lives in that neighborhood, quotes hearsay that the dead man was unarmed, and that he was fleeing some people who were chasing him, and the police shot the wrong person.

Hearsay? Since when are eyewitness accounts hearsay?!

Who knows? It’s interesting that all young black men are “kids.” The photograph on the news site shows a tough adult, definitely not a kid.

A tough adult? Code for scary man deserving of what he got.

It occurs to me that July 4 is a good time for a riot, if they spin this the right way.

Right because it would be ridiculous to protest the death of a unarmed Black man who was shot while he was in handcuffs, riiiiiight?

Update: I got a link from a Tumblr tag. Go read the comments, these people are crackheads. “Another innocent child shot by police.”

Crackheads. Code for ridiculous Black people deserving of contempt and scorn.

And then from the comments:

Anonymous said…

The *correct* title of Dion’s blog post is as follows: “A young(?) black man was murdered by police in my neighborhood”

You should note the subtle difference; no one’s trying to “spin” anything.

Anon, a little minor editing will never fix what Dion and his neighbors have. However, I will fix the title. Thanks.

Will never fix what Dion and his neighbors have [done?]…. What?! So now even they are guilty?

I’m disgusted.

Besides posting that anonymous comment, I couldn’t stay on that page another second. Like, the nerve of this shit stain to insinuate that all us uppity niggers are gonna “spin” the story to whip up fury for a race riot when that blog post is *THE* quintessential definition of spinning a story to fit your narrative. And I know that they purposefully left the “(?)” out of Dion’s title because they wanted to make it look like he was purposefully lying about the boy’s age. FUCK THEM.

“a scary adult”

what they meant to say was “an evil black guy.” but you know what they really mean, though.

and seriously, what is scary about him? what is scary about that photo? he’s not menacing, he’s not scowling. he’s barely even frowning. he’s just standing there. go look, i’ll wait.

just a dude looking at the camera, right?

so why is it scary? what is it about this dude that made the writer at the second link think he’s so scary?

oh yeah, that’s right
